When the pandemic lockdown occurred in March, Director of Counseling Debbie Hege led her therapist team through a rapid switch from in-person appointments to remote teletherapy. Clients were encouraged to try video sessions on our HIPAA-compliant Zoom platform. Phone sessions were offered to those who did not want to use Zoom. A phone client changed her mind after a family gathering was held over Zoom. She thoroughly enjoyed herself at the gathering, and then asked her therapist to do a Zoom therapy session. After the session, she expressed regret that she didn't try it sooner. "I actually like this Zoom therapy," she exclaimed.
Virtual therapy continues to strengthen our clients as we all navigate the challenges of the pandemic. The national increased need for social-emotional support is reflected locally in increased requests to support new clients. Now, more than ever, your support is needed to help ensure the availability of our professional counseling resources to all in need through the pandemic and beyond.
YOUR NEW OR INCREASED DONATION between now and December 24, will be doubled up to $10,000 by a grant from the Healthcare Foundation of Northern Lake County. Please join in support today.
