Thank You, Jeanne Mason

Thirteen years ago, Jeanne Mason, Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Baxter International, Inc., joined our Board. Ever since that day, her leadership has helped to guide our ship.  She has provided HR support to our organization, and she was always just a phone call away if she was needed.  Her passion for our mission has been unwavering.

Jeanne Mason, Ph.D. in Psychology, at one time thought she would take the clinical path but very soon realized that her skills would come in handy in organizational development and human resources.  Companies like General Electric and Baxter have benefited from those skills, and so has Family Service of Lake County. To have someone of Jeanne’s stature and experience level leading our HR Committee and guiding our “people decisions” with her commonsense approach and her skilled ear for listening...how lucky are we?

DeSha Kalmar a fellow HR committee member“It has been a real privilege to get to know and work with Jeanne on the HR Committee. Coming from a small HR department, it was interesting to get a glimpse into HR on such a different level. But more than that, Jeanne is so warm and caring. All of that came through in our meetings. It has been such a pleasure!”

Our Board recognizes the growing need for mental health services and has identified a strategic goal to grow clinical services.  One way we will do this will be to launch a new clinical internship program.  The first students will enter the program in the Fall of 2021.  Because Jeanne Mason has made an amazing contribution to Family Service of Lake County, we will be naming our new internship room: The Jeanne Mason Clinical Intern Room

Our new Intern Room is freshly painted...and completely empty.  You can help show appreciation to Jeanne by helping us prepare this space for the young clinicians wanting to learn from our experienced therapists, by donating now in Jeanne’s honor. Our Board will match up to $10,000 of donations.. The match will double your donation and help fund the clinical. intern program. Donations of every size can make a big difference. Click here to honor Jeanne.

On April 17th we will be paying special tribute to Jeanne for her leadership and contribution to Family Service.  Please, help us prepare this new intern room for our incoming students and honor a member of our Board who has shared her time and talents so generously.
