Meredith Gettleman is a Licensed Social Worker who received her Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in children and families from Erikson Institute.
At Family Service of Lake County, she works primarily with youth and families, utilizing a strengths-based, trauma-informed, supportive, and collaborative approach to help clients achieve their treatment goals. She believes strongly in the importance of creating a safe, nonjudgmental, trusting environment, so that the client can feel heard and comfortable to explore and work on any struggles they are facing. Using evidence-based practices, Meredith supports clients in learning effective ways to cope with and alleviate problems such as anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts, school-related concerns, trauma, and many other mental health struggles and psychosocial stressors.
Before joining the FSLC team, she worked with at-risk youth in Chicago dealing with various traumatic experiences and mental health conditions. She brings with her a passion for working with and helping individuals and families of all backgrounds facilitate the positive changes and growth that they desire.
