Family Resources

No other agency in Lake County offers the comprehensive range of programs provided by Family Service.  We are the only community mental health agency in Lake County offering such a broad scope of cost-effective, professional of services to clients in need.  All of our counselors have Masters degrees, and all but two are LCSW (LIcensed Clinical Social Workers).  Central to Family Service's mission is a tradition of supportive, holistic assistance to clients in need.  We offer almost  all of our services at no out-of-pocket cost to clients.  Counseling is offered on a sliding-scale fee basis, well below the regional market for professional counseling by licensed clinicians, and a fee may be reduced or waived entirely for clients suffering severe economic hardship or unemployment.  We also help clients reach out to and connect with specialized programs offered by regional organizations that offer supportive services beyond those provided by our agency. The connections below describe some of those services.

If you live in Highland Park or Highwood, Illinois, Family Service's CONNECT/CONECTAR staff will work with you to identify, determine eligible, and connect you with resources designed to improve your financial stability through our programs. Families, children, adults, and seniors may be eligible.  If you are eligible, a Family Service case manager will help you find free and low-cost resources and options for utilities, health care, food, transportation and financial assistance. This is a new program begun with a grant from United Way Metro Chicago.  To find out more, please call 847-432-4981, x102.
