Family Service, founded in 1930, is a community organization with a customized approach to delivering proven, high-quality senior and caregiver services, counseling for all ages, and Latino support services. We annually respond to nearly 10,000 children, adults, and families in need in 62 communities across Lake and northern Cook Counties in Illinois.
Family Service is a regional social-service leader focused on three core initiatives:
Affordable and Open to All
Clients come from diverse communities across the full economic spectrum and life cycle. Services are available on a sliding-scale fee basis. No one is turned away within our service area, regardless of their ability to pay. Most services are available at no out-of-pocket cost to the client.
The Family Service staff is comprised of highly-qualified professionals with a deep understanding of dynamic social-service issues, including bilingual/bicultural challenges. Our clinicians average over 20 years of post-license experience, all have Master’s degrees, and all but three are licensed clinical social workers (LCSW). Our caring staff makes a proven difference in the lives of thousands of community residents…every day.
Services are available in both English and Spanish and are available regardless of the individual's ability to pay.
