Anita Schmidt is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her Master's in Social Work degree from University of Illinois Chicago, Jane Addams College of Social Work. In her clinical practice she works with a broad range of clients from adolescents to seniors, as well as families and couples.
Utilizing a framework that views the person within their environment and evidence-based practices, Anita addresses issues related to life transitions, grief and loss, trauma, relationships, stress and more. Her background includes working with persons experiencing chronic homelessness, with particular interest in those diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar, PTSD, and mood disorders or their family members.
As a parent of three adult children and a long-time member of the North Shore community, she brings to Family Service a passion for helping people live the life they want to lead.
